The best pizzetta in Naples

Ok guys, today I want to introduce you “Michelangelo also called BOB”. What is BOB? In my opinion, it is a place of a pursuit of happiness where the flavour of Naples will match any expectation and any taste. It’s a bakery not far from the centre of Naples, but if you want to go there you need a car or, for the most healthy readers, may it will be ok even a bike.
Why am I talking about a bakery not easy to reach with public transport? Because I think Bob deserve it.

Michelangelo also called Bob: why is so special?

It’s special because you will find a massive range of “pizzette” that means pizza in rectangular or square slices of any kind your mind desires.
As Italian, I’m very used to eat pizza (basically I’m like a Ninja turtle) so it’s tough for me to find a Pizza that catches my attention more than another.

This is me

In Naples, you can find everywhere right places where you can order a good Pizza, for this reason, the comparison between the most excellent pizza maker all over the world becomes difficult, but not in this particular case.
Basically, in Italy and more often in the south, we are used to making differences between who sells “pizze” and who sells “pizzette”. I know that it can sound weird, but trust me, for us, there is a huge difference. Let me try to explain it better: Pizzerias are selling Pizzas (the huge and rounds one) pizzette instead are sold by bakeries.

When Italian eat pizza?

Any moment at any time. No, I’m joking. We are used to eating pizza during the weekend, especially Saturday evening that start for us from 8:30 pm and not earlier.
So, if you won’t look like a foreigner, please consider going for dinner, not at 6:00 pm like in the USA.
If you want to know where to eat the best pizza in the world, I wrote you an article. I suggest you read it.

When to eat pizzetta?

Habitually, we prefer to eat the pizzetta before lunch during the middle morning or the evening before dinner time. We prefer to eat a pizzetta like a snack and not like a mean meal. I understand that may it can look like that Italian people are gluttons, and actually, probably it is true, but I like to call us “life lovers” instead.

What’s the best Bob pizzetta that you must try?

Parigina

The best pizzetta that you can eat at “Michelangelo, also called BOB” in my opinion is called Parigina (that means Parisian).
It is a Neapolitan pizza in which, in reality, France has very little to do with it. Classic dough underneath, puff pastry on top and, in the middle, a tomato sauce, cooked ham and provola. A real “queen” meal!
But you can also try:

  • Salsiccia e patate
  • Porchetta e patate
  • Caprese
  • Pesto, mandorle e pancetta
  • Tropeana
  • Salsiccia e friarielli
  • Ortolana
  • Lasagna and many many more.

Where is Michelangelo also colled Bob?

You will find Bob in Cercola, a small town close to Naples.

You will find Bob in Cercola, a small town very close to Naples. Cercola is well connected to the city centre of Naples by the Circumvesuviana line.
